Double-Sided Window Stickers
Double-sided window stickers let you advertise on the inside and outside of a window at the same time. Unlike a standard sticker that’s only visible from one direction, these are printed on both the front and back with an opaque middle layer that keeps the two designs from bleeding into each other.
The result is a clean, professional graphic that reads just as well from the street as it does from inside your store. Whether you’re promoting a sale, displaying your brand, or signaling authorized dealer status, double-sided window stickers are one of the most efficient uses of your storefront glass.

How Double-Sided Window Decals Work
Most stickers are designed to be seen from a single direction. Double-sided window decals are engineered to work differently, showing a clear graphic from both sides at once.
The Opaque Substrate
Double-sided window decals start with an 8-mil plastic substrate engineered to block light from passing through. That’s what sets them apart from standard single-sided stickers and keeps the graphic on one side from bleeding through to the other.
Full-Color Printing on Both Faces
A full-color print is applied to both sides of the material using UV-resistant inks, with a removable adhesive laminated to one side for installation on glass or other smooth surfaces.
Why the Barrier Matters
The opaque layer in the middle keeps both sides vibrant and true to color. Without it, darker colors from one design would muddy the other. With it, each side reads as an independent graphic, allowing two completely different messages or a mirrored design that looks identical from both directions.
Removable, Repositionable Adhesive
Since the adhesive is removable, these decals can be taken down and repositioned without leaving sticky residue. That makes them ideal for seasonal promotions, limited-time sales, or campaigns that change throughout the year.
Best Places To Use Double-Sided Window Stickers
Two-sided decals, including push-pull door stickers, carry a lot of advertising weight on store doors and windows. When designed and printed properly, double-sided stickers have many creative uses! Here are some of the most effective ways businesses use them:
Push-Pull Door Decals
Placed just above the door handle of a retail entryway, push-pull decals tell customers which way the door opens, while putting your brand directly in a customer’s line of sight at the exact moment they’re about to walk in.
Authorized Dealer Stickers
Displaying an authorized dealer decal in your window builds instant credibility with customers before they ever step inside. These work especially well for brands that rely on their dealer network to maintain quality standards. The sticker signals to shoppers that they’re in the right place.
Retail Storefront Windows
Large-format double-sided decals transform plain storefront glass into an active advertising space. Promote a new product launch, a seasonal sale, or your core brand message to foot traffic passing by, while keeping the same message visible to everyone already inside.
Security and Alarm Company Decals
For security companies, a double-sided window decal at a client’s home or business serves two purposes: it markets your brand to neighbors and passersby, and it provides a visible deterrent to would-be intruders. Being readable from both directions makes it more effective than a standard single-sided sticker.
Franchise and Multi-Location Businesses
Double-sided decals help franchise locations keep branding consistent across every storefront, whether it’s a grand opening, a seasonal promotion, or a corporate campaign rolled out chainwide.
Restaurants and Cafés
Hours of operation, daily specials, delivery app logos, and health ratings are all common uses for double-sided decals on restaurant windows. Customers on the sidewalk see the information as they approach, and staff inside can confirm the same details are displayed correctly without stepping outside.
How to Install Double-Sided Window Decals
Step 1: Clean the surface. Wipe down the window or glass door thoroughly with a clean, lint-free cloth. If there’s any grease, oil, or residue on the glass, a quick wipe with isopropyl alcohol will remove it and give you the cleanest possible bonding surface. Let it dry completely before moving on.
Step 2: Plan your placement. Hold the decal up to the window (liner still on) and decide exactly where you want it. If you’re centering it or aligning it to a specific point, use a piece of masking tape as a temporary reference mark. This saves you from having to guess once the adhesive is exposed.
Step 3: Remove the release liner. Peel the release liner away from the adhesive side of the decal, slowly and evenly. If the liner is stubborn, fold a small piece of tape onto one corner to give yourself something to grip. The liner is a frosted, semi-transparent film, so it can be easy to mistake for part of the decal if you’re working quickly.
Step 4: Apply the decal. Position the decal against the glass and press it into place, starting from the center and working outward. Because the adhesive is designed to self-release air, you don’t need to rush or fight bubbles. Just apply even, steady pressure with your hand as you go.
Step 5: Squeegee for a firm bond. Once the decal is in position, use a squeegee or the edge of a credit card to press firmly from the center outward in overlapping strokes. This ensures full contact between the adhesive and the glass surface for a strong, lasting bond. No heat or moisture needed.
Step 6: Inspect the edges. Run your finger along all four edges to make sure they’re fully adhered. Corner and edge lifting is the most common installation issue and is easy to prevent by giving these areas a firm press before you walk away.
What you’ll need for installation
- A clean, lint-free cloth
- A squeegee or a credit card
- Isopropyl alcohol (optional, for surface prep)
For larger decals, having a second person help hold the decal in position before you peel the liner makes the process significantly easier and reduces the chance of the adhesive touching itself mid-application.
Caring for Your Double-Sided Window Decals
With proper care, your double-sided window decals can last anywhere from 3 to 5 years, depending on sun exposure and environmental conditions. Follow these tips to keep them looking their best:
Cleaning: Regular cleaning is fine. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the surface of the decal. Mild soap and water work well for removing dirt or fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can dull the laminate over time.
Pressure washing: Do not use a pressure washer on or near your decals. The high-pressure stream can lift the edges and cause peeling, especially on decals that have been installed for an extended period.
Sun exposure: UV-resistant inks are used on all of our double-sided window decals, which helps maintain color vibrancy over time. Decals installed in direct, full-day sun will naturally fade faster than those in shaded locations. This is normal and expected for any outdoor-rated graphics.
Removal: When it’s time to remove the decal, peel it back slowly from one corner, pulling at a low angle close to the surface. If the decal has been in place for a long time, gentle heat from a hair dryer can soften the adhesive and make removal easier. Any residue can be cleaned off with a damp cloth or light adhesive remover.
Storage: If you need to store unused decals before applying them, keep them flat, at room temperature, and away from direct sunlight or humidity. Stored properly, decals can remain ready to apply for up to a year before the adhesive begins to degrade.
Benefits of Using Double-Sided Printed Stickers?
Double-sided window decals provide several benefits over traditional stickers for your business or brand:
- Visible from both sides of the glass: Unlike traditional stickers, double-sided window stickers display your message on either side of a glass door or window.
- Two impressions per visit: A potential customer sees your logo once when entering a retail space, and again on their way out.
- Built to last: It’s printed with the same UV inks as traditional stickers, making it extremely durable against the elements.
- Versatile marketing use: It’s great for authorized dealer stickers, new product announcements, or other additions to your marketing strategy.
