White BOPP: The Label Material

Every custom product label starts with the right base material. For ours, that’s White BOPP.

What BOPP Is

BOPP is short for biaxially oriented polypropylene. It’s a premium, waterproof, heat-tolerant label material with a pearly, high-end finish, and it’s our standard for nearly all product label orders.

Water Resistance

Because the base material is BOPP, the labels are water-resistant by nature. That resistance, along with the material’s durability, is a big part of why BOPP is our default.

Laminate Finish

Every label comes with a laminate applied to the BOPP. The standard finish is gloss, which gives the label a premium, polished look. If you’d rather have a matte finish, you can request it during the proofing process at no extra cost.

Roll Labels

Every product label order ships on a roll, which keeps application simple.

Why Labels Ship on Rolls

Product labels are printed on rolls to make application straightforward. You can peel labels off the liner by hand, or feed the roll through an automated application machine if you’re labeling at higher volume.

Roll Size and Quantity

How many labels fit on a roll depends on your label size. Larger labels mean fewer per roll. Rolls are generally kept to about a 10-inch outside diameter, though rolls up to 14 inches OD can be accommodated if you’re using auto-application equipment.

The number of labels per roll depends heavily on the size of the labels. A larger label means fewer labels will fit on a roll. We try to keep the total OD (outside diameter) of each roll to no more than 10″. If you’re using auto-application equipment, more labels per roll is better, and we can accommodate roll ODs up to 14″.
